Our late spring after-school program gets in the swing today at Rainier Beach Community Center. This vibrant hub of activity boasts swimming, ultra-modern activity spaces and tennis courts and our team is ready!
STEF will be delivering our secret sauce mix of tennis play, mentorship and STEAM content anchored by our guest presenters for our elementary school cohort at RBCC.
Making a firm investment in programming, our student athletes and in the community are top priorities for STEF. "We couldn't be more thrilled to be at Rainier Beach Community Center," says STEF Executive Director, Gail Benzler. "This really is a perfect fit for our program and we are excited to get going for spring and for summer."

Role: Mentor/Coach
Functions:
Our role-model mentor/coaches are our team’s foundation. You’ll provide encouragement on the tennis court and help our STEF kids improve their skills. You will assist our Tennis Director and Head Pro with tennis activities and games, including set up, delivering games based on our STEF Core Curriculum, playing in with kids and monitoring behavior.
No tennis experience is requited, but all volunteers, mentors and coaches are expected to participate on the court.
STEF offers unique role-model mentor delivered enrichment, based on STEAM concepts, as well as help with homework when needed. It’s essential that you help make learning fun and engaging.
Have fun, be a positive role model for our kids and just jump in. Help our participants by modeling good behavior and sportsmanship, on the court and in the enrichment room. You will be expected to uphold STEF’s core values and help instill them in our kids through positive encouragement, participation in activities and by leading by example.
